Foram sete. Na incontida vontade de saber, aproximei-me e o interroguei. – Fala meu Preto Velho, diz a este teu filho, por que externa assim, esta tão visível dor? – Está vendo, filho, estas pessoas que entram e saem do terreiro? As lágrimas que você contou, estão distribuídas a cada uma delas. – A primeira lágrima foi dada aos indiferentes, que aqui vem em busca de distração. Que saem ironizando e criticando, por aquilo que suas mentes ofuscadas não puderam compreender. – A segunda, a esses eternos duvidosos que acreditam, desacreditando. Sempre na expectativa de um milagre, que os façam alcançar aquilo que seus próprios merecimentos lhes negam. – A terceira, aos maus. A aqueles que procuram a Umbanda em busca de vinganças, desejando prejudicar a um seu semelhante. – A quarta, aos frios, aos calculistas. Aos que, ao saberem da existência de uma força espiritual, procuram beneficiar-se dela, a qualquer preço, mas não conhecem a palavra gratidão e nem a Caridade. – A quinta lágrima, vê como chega suave? Ela tem o riso, do elogio e da flor dos lábios. Mas se olhares bem, no seu semblante, verá escrito: ‘Creio na Umbanda. Creio nos teus Caboclos, nos teus Velhos, e no teu Zambi, mas somente se vencerem no meu caso ou me curarem disso ou daquilo’. – A sexta, eu dei aos fúteis que vão de Terreiro em Terreiro, sem acreditar em nada, buscando aconchegos e conchavos. Mas em seus olhos revelam um interesse diferente. – A sétima, filho, notas como foi grande? Notou como deslizou pesada? Foi a última lágrima. Aquela que vive nos Olhos de todos os Orixás e de todas as entidades. Fiz doação desta aos Médiuns. Aos que só aparecem no Terreiro em dia de festa. Aos que se esquece de suas obrigações. Aos que esquecem que existem tantos irmãos precisando de caridade, tantas ‘crianças’ precisando de amparo. Da mesma caridade e do mesmo apoio que eles próprios, um dia aqui vieram buscar. Assim, filho meu, foi para esses todos que vistes cair, uma a uma, AS SETE LÁGRIMAS DE UM PRETO VELHO.”
